Overview

Many people are talking about quantum computing. The opportunity it presents is huge, not just here at OQC but for the wider world. We are adding a dedicated Chief Operating Officer to our Executive team to oversee Program Management, Engineering Operations, IT services, HR, H&S, and Supply Chain, excluding Finance which is already covered.

Candidate Profile

You are a proven senior operations executive with experience across scientific/technical and commercial environments, with a track record of seamless operations management. International experience and a reputation for simplifying support processes are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Align operational functions with business objectives to support growth and international expansion.
  • Lead IT strategy, infrastructure, and security improvements.
  • Oversee global IT systems and infrastructure across multiple regions.
  • Manage supply chain, procurement, vendor relations, and compliance.
  • Develop and lead global HR strategies, including talent management and employee relations.
  • Provide strategic leadership for quantum hardware deployment and site expansion.
  • Oversee prototyping, design services, and engineering output.
  • Lead Program Management for cross-functional project delivery.
  • Manage facilities, security, and workplace standards globally.
  • Implement internal controls for risk management and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and KPI alignment with strategic goals.

Team and Requirements

Join a C-suite team including the CEO, CTO, CSO, CFO, CLO, and others. Your experience should ideally cover these functions both strategically and operationally. If you have gaps but show motivation to grow, that’s acceptable.

If you are a CFO or CFOO, you must fully step away from finance responsibilities, which are handled by our CFO. Preference for Spanish speakers or those with experience in Spain is a plus.
