The Parade Officer plans and delivers the annual Oxford Pride Parade, ensuring safety, compliance, and inclusivity. They work closely with the Operations Director and support event delivery once the parade has concluded.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the parade route, securing necessary licences and approvals.
  • Liaise with councils, highways, emergency services, and authorities.
  • Coordinate bookings of groups and participants.
  • Ensure stewards and security are briefed and supported.
  • Lead the parade on the day, coordinating with Officers and stewards.
  • Support the Operations Director after the parade with crowd flow and event management.

Skills Required

  • Strong organisational and logistical ability.
  • Confidence liaising with authorities and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to brief and manage volunteers and stewards.
  • Calm and responsive under pressure.

Time Commitment

  • 2–3 hours per month.
  • Additional support the day before, during, and after the Pride Event.

Ideal Candidate
