Oxford Plastic Systems Ltd (OPS) is a privately owned UK-based manufacturing business engaged in the design, manufacture and distribution of a portfolio of innovative site safety equipment.
The main range offers solutions across the composite trench cover markets, familiar to us all when street works arrive in our neighbourhoods.
We recognise the need for more advanced safety aids that allow construction and road maintenance workers to operate safely and with less risk, which is why we combined modern design principles with advanced composite technology.
Today OPS supplies thousands of products to over 30 countries worldwide and trades with some of the biggest names across the reseller, utility and sub‑contractor sectors.
Role Description
The required individual will have an impressive sales and business development background, ideally degree qualified from a relevant product manufacturer or have exposure to key market sectors (highways, utilities, construction).
They will have the imagination, drive and the necessary intellect to spot new opportunities whilst growing our current sales channel and be able to distinguish between commercial noise and genuine profitable dialogue.
This person should have high levels of energy supported through effective and clear communication skills and be able to converse at all levels with internal and external stakeholders alike.
Individuals should be able to provide innovative solutions and help shape the strategic direction of the business to ensure future success.
The role balances business development with strategic channel management and distributor management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, and customer relationship management.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyse market trends, identify new business opportunities, and develop strategic planning for sales growth.
- Experience in managing accounts and maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Knowledge of the construction, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in relevant CRM tools and office software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
