Are you passionate about precision and clarity in scientific communications? Oxford PharmaGenesis is looking for a meticulous Senior Medical Editor to join our editing team on a 12-month fixed-term contract! This is a hybrid role based in our Oxfordshire office. You will ideally have previous experience of editing scientific publications and will be comfortable working with both print and digital deliverables. This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit, supportive editorial team and work with talented writing, account management, and artwork colleagues on a wide variety of project types.

Key responsibilities:

  • Edit a diverse range of scientific materials, including patient-focused materials, manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, posters and digital outputs, in adherence with the relevant style guides.
  • Conduct thorough proofreading, including detailed checks of typeset layouts and figure redraws, as well as journal proofs.
  • Create and update account-specific style guides as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues to help ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Attend project and team meetings, helping to shape workflows, promote best practice and adapt to client needs.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Medical Editor who has:

  • A science, English or related bachelor’s degree.
  • Previous experience in healthcare communications or journal publishing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and reference management software, such as EndNote (not essential).
  • An exceptional eye for detail and a strong command of English.
  • A service-oriented approach, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
