Salary: Up to £53,200 FTE DOE (Basic grade SALT £33,000+, Specialist £39,500+, Highly specialist £48,000+)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30-16:30pm
Contract: Permanent – Term time only, or flexible full‑time contract can be discussed based on personal circumstances
Job Overview: We are looking for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our in‑house clinical team at Upton Grange School. Working collaboratively with the education team, you will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will practice within the standards provided in the OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working, taking into account governing and professional bodies. You will hold a caseload with support from your clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Manage a therapeutic caseload and develop support plans based on individual needs.
- Collaborate with educators, clinical supervisors and other professionals to provide holistic support.
- Contribute to staff training, consultation and training sessions within the clinical team.
- Maintain safeguarding culture and uphold standards of professional practice.
Essential Criteria:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- 1–2 years experience as a fully registered RCSLT member working in a similar setting
- Experience engaging with complex and diverse communication profiles
- Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice
- Experience in multi‑disciplinary working and with families or carers
- Strong relationship building, analytical, organisational and communication skills
- Good understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards and legislation
- Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications
- Full, valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
Desirable:
- Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
- Experience with the relationship between arousal levels and communication
- ASD experience
