The Role

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our bioinformatics product management team. This role focuses on supporting the development of secondary analysis tools and workflows for human and cancer genomics. A primary objective will be enabling accurate and scalable analysis of nanopore sequencing data through the delivery of variant analysis tools and pipelines. You will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders (engineering, research, and commercial teams) to define user needs and translate them into clear product requirements. Your contributions will be vital to the delivery of tools used across research and clinical settings, including applications in rare disease and oncology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the bioinformatics strategy through deep subject matter expertise, market intelligence, and competitive understanding.
  • Support the definition and delivery of bioinformatics products for human secondary analysis.
  • Gather and prioritize requirements from internal teams, customers, and external collaborators.
  • Translate scientific and technical concepts into clear product requirements and user‑facing value.
  • Collaborate with engineering and research teams to ensure the timely and high‑quality delivery of product features.
  • Support product releases, including documentation and user guidance.
  • Monitor user feedback and product performance to inform ongoing product improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Substantial experience in product management or a related role in bioinformatics, genomics, or life sciences software.
  • A strong understanding of human genetics, including variant types and analysis approaches.
  • Experience with bioinformatics, particularly secondary analysis tools and workflows.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Organized and able to manage priorities across multiple workstreams.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of cancer genomics (e.g., somatic variant calling, tumour profiling).
  • Experience with long‑read sequencing data.
  • Exposure to clinical or regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with workflow tools or cloud‑based bioinformatics platforms.
