Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Commercial Operations Specialist to join the Global Commercial Operations team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. Location: Oxford / Hybrid | Global Commercial Operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their Sales Operations, Service Operations, or Business Operations career to gain hands-on experience supporting global commercial processes, systems, and transformation initiatives.
The Role
As a key member of the Commercial Operations team, you’ll support the operational rollout and ongoing management of Sales & Services processes, helping turn process improvements into real-world execution. You’ll contribute to high-impact initiatives across areas such as Sales & Quoting, Stratified Support models, and Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS), working closely with stakeholders across the business.
You Will
- Maintain and update process documentation across Salesforce and related systems
- Coordinate input from cross-functional teams to capture as-is and to-be workflows
- Support user stories, process maps, governance, and project documentation
- Coordinate workshops, meetings, demos, and project reviews (including minutes and actions)
- Support system testing and UAT for Salesforce enhancements
- Log issues and track resolution with internal stakeholders and system owners
- Help compile training and rollout materials
- Support reporting on user adoption, engagement metrics, and KPIs
- Gather feedback from frontline teams to inform implementation decisions
About You

Essential
- 1–3 years’ experience in Sales Operations, Service Operations, or CRM administration
- Familiarity with Salesforce (reporting, accounts, opportunities, cases, activities)
- Understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Have
- Exposure to quoting tools, service platforms, or pricing processes
- Experience with JIRA or ticket management tools
- Familiarity with customer lifecycle or funnel reporting
- Experience supporting global or matrixed teams
- Interest in AI-enabled tools (e.g. Salesforce Einstein, chatbots, knowledge systems)
