We are looking for a highly motivated Events Manager to join the Events team within Marketing Operations at Oxford Nanopore Technologies.
The details…
This person will be fundamental in the planning of the EMEAI event strategy – ensuring alignment with our global campaigns and sales goals. They will also be personally responsible for the coordination and management of our event schedule across the EMEAI region.
In supporting our conference and trade show schedule, they will drive lead generation, lead conversion and expansion of our customers\’ use of nanopore sequencing technology. The job holder will work closely with the existing Marketing, Sales, Product Management and R&D teams to build events that best address the needs of each market and reach our sales targets.
Please note that this role involves 1 day/week on site in Oxford, as well as travelling across EMEAI.
Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive event strategy aligned with Oxford Nanopore’s commercial goals.
- Planning and completing our year-round EMEAI event schedule; identifying and completing objectives and targets.
- Collaborating with internal partners to define event budgets, timelines and deliverables; and ensuring that these are adhered to in order to meet business goals.
- Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on multiple projects.
- Working closely with external stakeholders to negotiate contracts, ensure the smooth planning and execution of all events; and to maintain strong relationships.
- Developing and cascading external communications to promote company events and conference attendance.
- Assisting with internal communications.
- Overseeing event set-up and Oxford Nanopore’s presence onsite at events.
- Analysing event data and metrics, such as attendance, lead generation, and conversion rates, to assess return on investment and make data-driven recommendations.
- Continuously improve event processes and best practices based on feedback and lessons learned.
- Any other duties, as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
What We\’re Looking For…
We\’re looking for someone with at least 5 years\’ event management experience. We\’ll expect you to have a consistent record in coordinating logistics or events in your current role and a proven track record of working proficiently with external contractors and internal stakeholders as this is key to ensuring that Oxford Nanopore’s presence is both strong and innovative. You\’ll be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to problem solve, work independently and have a good eye for detail. You will have previous experience in both brand management and design. The successful candidate will have a bachelor\’s degree or equivalent experience – ideally, you\’ll hold a relevant degree in either Life Sciences, Business or Marketing with knowledge of the life sciences sector.
This role will suit someone who works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and who can work proactively with multi-disciplinary teams across the business to achieve conference goals. We are looking for someone with phenomenal time management and multi-tasking skills who can adapt easily. The ideal candidate will thrive when working in a fast-paced environment; be extremely detail orientated; and have excellent interpersonal and project management skills.
