Oxford Nanopore’s sequencing platform is the only technology that offers real-time analysis, in fully scalable formats from pocket to population scale, that can analyse native DNA or RNA and sequence any length of fragment to achieve short to ultra-long read lengths. We are looking for an IT Support Engineer to help drive technical excellence across multiple concurrent projects, with a particular focus on end user device management and rollout.
The details… In this role, you’ll work closely with the team manager and IT support team to roll out devices and services to support end users. You’ll balance BAU responsibilities with hands-on involvement in the planning and execution of technical workstreams across regional and global projects. This is a fast-paced environment that requires a self-starter demeanour throughout.
Key responsibilities:- Deliver technical solutions across multiple IT projects, with a focus on device deployment and endpoint management via Intune.
- Implement and support system upgrades and software rollouts as part of broader project initiatives.
- Work alongside project managers to ensure delivery milestones are met and stakeholders are kept informed.
- Own escalated issues from the service desk and see them through to resolution.
- Regular reviews of user access permissions.
- Laptop refresh program with Intune.
- Windows 10->11 upgrades of laptops and lab PCs.
- Data management in Jamf and Intune for asset management integration into ServiceNow.
What we are looking for…
- Proven experience delivering multiple IT projects in a hands-on capacity, particularly involving Windows device management and software deployment at scale.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Scripting capability with PowerShell to support automation and repeatable tasks.
- Experience managing identity and authentication platforms.
- Skilled in systems analysis and diagnosing complex desktop and infrastructure issues.
- Solid understanding of network protocols including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- A proactive, organised, and self-motivated approach to balancing support and project delivery.
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
