Role Summary
The Electromechanical Assembler post within the Production Department is primarily responsible for the build and visual inspection of the Company’s products. The Electromechanical Assembler shall report directly to the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble electro-mechanical assemblies with reference to assembly drawings, assembly instructions, bills of materials.
- Diagnosing mechanical faults in camera sub-assemblies to component level and managing the repair/replacement - returning the defective item(s) to the appropriate supervisor (Ops Manager or Stock Controller) to ensure inventory stock levels can be accurately managed.
- To perform Dispatch function as and when necessary.
- To perform Goods In function as and when necessary.
- To assist in other areas where necessary to meet business needs e.g. testing, kit verification, stock counts and packing.
- In conjunction with Engineering, Design Engineer, Realisation Engineer and Operations Manager: Assist with the on-going improvement of current product by actively feeding back observations from the current build.
- Assist in the risk prevention/design improvement process by actively feeding back observations from the prototype/current build.
- To participate in training activities for flexible working.
- To ensure all consumables (including B-stock items) stock levels are monitored and low stock status is reported back to the Buyer.
- To keep working area organised and tidy (ensure all stock that is not consumed is returned to the correct stock location and tools are returned to their correct storage location at the end of the shift).
- To work to a high standard of quality.
- To work in a safe manner for themselves and others.
- To work using correct documentation.
- To participate in Quality Control, Waste Minimisation or other improvement activities.
- Must be able to work without supervision and to meet deadlines.
- Able to work as a member of a focused team.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Ideally to have experience in mechanical assembly.
- Experience in electronic/box build assembly.
- Meticulous with a good eye for detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Enthusiastic and committed to the goals of the Company.
- Organised and tidy.
- Exhibit good written and verbal communications skills.
- Basic computer skills (inc experience in using Word, Excel, databases).
