Job Description
Summary:
This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced tech manager to lead a talented Treasury engineering team at one of the world's most prestigious hedge funds. You'll play a central role in shaping and delivering a large-scale Treasury project focused on margin replication, scenario analysis, and 'what-if' modelling.
This is a critical initiative for the firm, with significant visibility across Treasury, Risk Managers, Portfolio Managers, Business Managers, and the office of the CIO.
As Team Lead, your role is pivotal in ensuring the right system design, managing the project roadmap, and representing the team with senior stakeholders. You'll guide a strong team of engineers – currently 3 and rising to 5 – to build, iterate, and expand a proof-of-concept system into a robust suite of analytics and tools. The project will run for several years; starting with margin replication models, then broadening into other areas of Treasury to shape something truly impactful.
This ambitious build requires exceptional leadership, strong technical depth, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
This position will suit a seasoned engineer with proven leadership experience and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 10+ years' experience
- Deep experience developing distributed systems and microservices architecture
- Demonstrable leadership of engineering teams
- Technically solid, with a strong hands-on background (Python essential, with some Java and Golang exposure desirable)
Nice to have:
- Financial industry experience, ideally in Treasury or cash/margin management
- Experience with ETL pipelines
