My client - one of the industry's leading global investment managers - is seeking a candidate to join their Market Connectivity team, specifically focusing on creating solutions for options trading. This role entails the development of applications to facilitate single-stock, complex, index options and options on futures trading on a global scale. This is a global team focusing primarily on developing front office trading solutions in collaboration with brokers, exchanges, ECNs, and third-party platforms across various asset classes and regions.
Principal Responsibilities
- The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing software applications that support electronic trading with brokers, exchanges, and third-party execution platforms, with a primary emphasis on options and options on futures trading.
- Additionally, the candidate may also be involved in monitoring, conducting research, statistical analysis, as well as participating in automation projects.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Substantial experience in Java programming, with a focus on multi-threaded/server application development.
- A strong comprehension of market structure for options and futures trading is necessary.
- A solid understanding of object-oriented programming is a prerequisite.
- Previous experience working in the financial institution industry is required.
- Strong knowledge of the FIX protocol is essential, particularly FIX 4.2 to FIX 5.0 with repeating groups.
- Familiarity with binary trading protocols is beneficial.
- Knowledge of C++ development is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a must.
- Extensive experience in Linux development is required.
- Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP and multicast is expected.
