What to expect:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Procurement Buyer to lead and develop the procurement of engineering components and sub-assemblies as a member of our Manufacturing team. You will be central to optimising our supplier relationships, ensuring compliance, and helping us scale responsibly and effectively.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, managing, and developing procurement and contract processes across the business.
  • Developing effective inventory management to support MRP, Kanban and R&D.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for all procurement-related queries, providing top-notch service to both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Developing and maintaining effective procurement and contracting frameworks aligned with regulatory and company policies.
  • Coordinating and executing quote requests, tenders, and call-offs, including preparing and managing tender documentation via e-tendering platforms.
  • Ensuring that all procurement activity is compliant, efficient, and delivers strong value for money.
  • Maintaining accurate records and supporting reporting on procurement performance and compliance.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a strategic purchasing role, ideally working with electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Experience in material requirements planning (MRP) procurement related to manufacturing.
  • Ability to work from engineering drawings/technical specifications.
  • Demonstrable strategic approach to procurement and strong knowledge of procurement best practice.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience of contract negotiation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and an ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong experience working with the full Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Qualified or working towards MCIPS, or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience of the development and management of ‘Pull’ or JTI supply chains, in order to support a forecast driven ‘build to order’ expectation.
