To support the People team in delivering an outstanding People service across the Group by providing efficient, accurate, and timely transactional and operational People support. The role will ensure the effective administration of the People processes, maintenance of employee records, and delivery of a responsive service to employees and managers in line with company policies and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • People Operations
    • Coordinate operational People processes, liaising with key stakeholders across the business and the People team.
    • Manage the People Team inbox, ensuring timely response, triage, and resolution of queries.
    • Process full employee lifecycle documentation (starters, leavers, and contractual changes).
    • Coordinate recruitment administration and pre‑employment checks, including RTW, DBS, and references.
    • Maintain accurate employee records on the People system and secure electronic personnel files.
    • Produce monthly and ad hoc People reports as required.
    • Maintain and update Single Central Record (SCR) for divisions.
    • Maintain and update People forms and People documentation, as required.
    • Support analysis of People data and key people metrics.
    • Support the People Operations Manager with continuous process improvements.
  • People Compliance
    • Ensure full organisational compliance with all relevant People legislation, statutory guidance, and internal policies.
    • Responsible for the maintenance and administration of UK compliance including but not limited to UK immigration and Right to Work requirements, monitoring visa expiry dates, proactively managing renewal processes, following up with individuals, and updating all relevant systems and databases.
    • Own and manage DBS and criminal record (CRC) rechecks, ensuring timely renewal, accurate recording, and escalation where required.
    • Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding requirements, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), across onboarding, and ongoing employment checks.
    • Maintain compliance with GDPR and data protection legislation, ensuring employee data is handled, stored, and always retained appropriately.
    • Support internal and external people audits.

    • Educated to degree level
    • CIPD qualification (Desirable)
  • Experience and knowledge
    • Experience of working in an administrative role in a fast‑paced professional environment
    • Experience of working in a People/HR administrative role (Desirable)
    • Experience of using HR systems (Desirable)
  • Skills and abilities
    • Good IT skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • High standard of written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively prioritise tasks to meet required deadlines
