Centre Manager – Residential – Oxford International Education Group

Salary: £900 per week + holiday remuneration + Performance Bonus

Contract type: Full‑time, fixed‑term

Availability: Spring – 27/03/2026 to 14/04/2026; Summer – 29/06/2026 to 12/08/2026; Summer – Edinburgh and Royal Holloway centres open on 16/06/2026

Senior Staff induction: Spring – from 24/03/2026; Summer – from 23/06/2026

Overview

As a Centre Manager with Oxford International Junior Programmes, you will be client‑facing and responsible for the complete oversight of the day‑to‑day running of one of our residential language centres.

Must‑Haves

  • Experience working in a residential camp setting or similar
  • Experience managing a team, ideally in a residential camp setting or similar
  • The ability to motivate and lead a diverse workforce
  • A skill set that enables success in a fast‑paced work environment
  • A positive and flexible approach to work, along with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
  • A desire to work with students aged between 8–17
  • The ability to demonstrate respect for equal opportunities & diversity
  • Strong work ethic – this is no ordinary job!

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Build an efficient and cohesive staff team
  • Create a positive environment, motivating staff to work hard
  • Ensure all staff undergo relevant on‑site induction
  • Hold daily meetings with the senior staff team
  • Monitor staff performance, ensuring high standards are maintained
  • Ensure staff appraisals are conducted by relevant line managers

Client Management

  • Hold daily meetings with Group Leaders and Host Centre Staff to maintain clear communication
  • Promptly answer all requests from Group Leaders and Host Centre Staff
  • Implement an engaging Group Leader programme
  • Collate and act upon client feedback efficiently, reporting this to Head Office

General

  • Monitor accommodation allocation and keep host centre staff updated regularly
  • Compile weekly catering numbers and provide them to host centre staff by set deadlines
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is sent to Head Office by deadlines (including documents from Activity Manager, Student Support Manager and Director of Studies)
  • Maintain proper levels of student discipline, safety and welfare; monitor implementation of risk assessments
  • Oversee control of meal cards and travel cards in partnership with AM
  • Respond quickly to emergencies where necessary
  • Support staff welfare when needed
  • Maintain a strong presence, visible to students and contactable by clients

  • Uphold safeguarding and welfare commitments
  • Actively engage with students and ensure their enjoyment
  • Adapt to dynamic work environment of a residential youth setting
