Role Description

The Head of Mathematics will lead a high-performing department delivering outstanding A-level and IGCSE results, with a vision and standards setting, curriculum design, assessment, and student progression support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Mathematics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and professionalism.
  • Line‑manage and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Deliver outstanding teaching in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics (IGCSE as required).
  • Oversee curriculum design, assessment, and data tracking to maximize student progress.
  • Prepare students for external exams and competitive university admissions (e.g., MAT, STEP, TMUA).
  • Provide academic stretch, enrichment, and coaching for high‑achieving students.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality assurance, and college policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mathematics (essential).
  • Strong experience teaching A-level Mathematics to high‑achieving students.
