We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Electrical Designer to join our engineering team. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components for our industry-leading products.
This role requires you to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improving your communication and leadership capabilities, while also honing your skills and expertise to enhance your technical development. You will identify areas for improvement with regard to processes and operations, and the utilisation of resources to help streamline these.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement electrical systems and components for our products, adhering to EN60204-33, EN13849, UL, and CSA standards and experience in CE marking.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with mechanical, software, and firmware components.
- Produce detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts using industry-standard CAD software.
- Manage the planning of engineering tasks and allocation of resources with the management team and other Lead Engineers.
- Ensure the delivery of engineering work to deadlines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering team members, helping to ensure their professional growth and development, including onboarding new staff.
- Ensure the output of the team is in a standard format, and complies with company quality, as well as other regulatory and compliance standards.
- Support other departments by answering queries and requests for information relating to your function.
- Work closely and support the other team members to ensure that a consistent engineering service is provided by the team.
- Lead and drive forward the continuous improvement of your engineering function and the team β maintain the βone teamβ culture at PT by helping other departments where possible.
- Chair meetings relating to your engineering function and attend cross-functional meetings with other department leads to communicate the progress of the team and set business priorities.
Education / Qualifications:
- Relevant Engineering Degree.
- Chartered Engineer desired but not essential.
Professional Skills/ Abilities:
- Design of precision mechanical/electrical systems and mechanisms. Broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques and materials with an eye for new ways of applying emerging technologies.
- Technical excellence in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Manufacturing/Software) and CAD software, (Solid Edge/AutoCAD preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrated solving and making decisions skills
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve systems and procedures and minimise or eliminate wastage.
- Knowledge of regulatory and standards compliance requirements
