Facilities & Maintenance Manager

With modern facilities to be proud of, the OI Andor Belfast site is entering an exciting period of growth that will require ongoing projects, investment, and improved utilisation of our current workspace. To support this, the Facilities & Maintenance Manager will take responsibility for the full range of site services across the Belfast campus, including but not limited to site security, cleaning, waste management, landscape maintenance, pest control, office and plant relocations, building services maintenance, and asset/equipment upkeep.
This is a hands‑on, operational role where the Manager will be actively involved in day‑to‑day facilities activities, troubleshooting issues on the ground, coordinating practical work, and directly supporting maintenance tasks when required. The successful candidate will lead by example regularly visible on the shop floor, proactively identifying improvement opportunities, and ensuring that the site remains safe, efficient, well‑maintained, and aligned with the high standards our growing business expects.
Responsibilities
- Manage all Belfast site services including, but not limited to site security, cleaning, waste management, landscape maintenance, pest control, office & plant relocations, buildings service maintenance & equipment/asset maintenance.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical etc) are functioning optimally.
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance programme to ensure longevity and functionality of all plant, equipment and production assets.
- Develop, maintain and implement the department budget, ensuring cost effective solutions for repairs and upgrade.
- Manage infrastructure maintenance contracts (negotiation, execution and termination).
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, ensuring quality service delivery and compliance with contractual terms.
- Ensure readiness of the Business Continuity Plan.
- Implement emergency procedures (fire drills, evacuations etc) to ensure the safety of all occupants in the event of an emergency.
Qualifications
- Third level qualification and 3 years relevant experience as a facilities manager OR 6 years relevant experience as a facilities manager
- Proven track record of successful project management
- Experience in management and use of a maintenance works order system
This permanent position is based onsite at our Belfast headquarters.
