The critical deliverables of this role include:
Key Deliverables
- Technical sales support providing technical information, pre-calculations, and technical descriptions.
- Accurate quotations, improving product offerings through standardisation. Increase conversion rate of opportunities by providing quote approvals in a timely manner.
- Process Technical Sales quotes effectively, accurately, owning and managing them from start to finish to sales/customer satisfaction and OI standards.
- Providing timely and accurate tender responses.
- CES management into quotations with approval.
- Support our in-house quoting process (for example, with HVM/ Key accounts RFQs as well as complex clusters).
- Monitor and control technical risk.
- Provide sales support in line with platform roadmaps and configurator.
- Complete effective handover to the Engineering team for post-order support.
General Responsibilities
- Generate an understanding of the customers\’ requirements and applications.
- Communicate with Sales/agents / customers as necessary to ensure understanding.
- Provide comprehensive technical information on Sales/customer requests.
- Support in-house quoting (for example, HVM/ Key accounts RFQs as well as complex clusters).
- Be the contact in Technical Sales regarding key account management. Participate in Volume Manufacturing Account management reviews and implement the agreed priorities.
Quotations
- Manage the quotations process, driving standard quotations through Blueprint to increase customer responsiveness and process efficiency, and further develop the upgrade quotation process.
- Support the creation of accurate and detailed specification and quotation documents of a professional standard to be agreed and signed off with the customer.
- Proactively follow up on open quotations, working with Sales and Service Sales teams to increase conversion and revenue.
Tenders
- Develop and manage a process to provide complete responses to extensive production customer requirement documents (Safety Review documents, tenders) in a timely manner. Liaise with other departments and manage response creation.
- Improve tender response statements and set standard information. Document responses and support building and maintaining a knowledge database to accelerate future responses.
- Work in conjunction with the Commercial team to coordinate, lead and track replies from the company to customer enquiries or tenders. Ensure timely and accurate responses for quotations and tenders.
Customer Engineering Specials (CES)
- Prepare technical description of non-standard items (CES). Ensure that the customer requirements, risks and opportunities are fully understood and communicated to stakeholders.
- CES approval, management and engagement with the Engineering team. Addition of CES to the quotation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in relevant Science or Engineering discipline, or HNC with equivalent industry experience.
- Ideally, proven experience in a technical role in the semiconductor industry or a comparable capital equipment environment. Proven experience in sales support within a high‑tech or industrial setting, ideally in semiconductors.
- Experience in cross‑functional collaboration across departments.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications and data.
- Confident working with internal teams to understand requirements, challenges and success criteria.
- Experienced in using CRM, ERP and quoting tools.
- Competent in project management, both in person and remotely.
- Able to appreciate and understand the applications and technical performance of our products.
- Ability to technically qualify enquiries for non‑standard and/or complex items.
- Skilled in creating accurate technical quotations and managing the sales support process.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
- Good diagnostic skills and structured approach to problem‑solving.
- Time management and prioritisation skills.
