Key Responsibilities
- Train and certify Test Engineers in the correct use of test documents, procedures and equipment.
- Support our test document author for content and expertise by defining, implementing, and maintaining test schedules and methods.
- Produce and end‑to‑end manufacture simple control systems (including software) for ATE equipment.
- Manage design, commissioning & maintenance of ATE (automatic test equipment), ensuring compatibility with legacy products where practical.
- Produce schematics, assembly drawings & BOMS for test equipment and manage release via PLM system.
- Analyse failure reports from the field and final test and modify test points to avoid repeat occurrences.
- Contribute to manufacturing plan and outsourcing strategy as part of the manufacturing engineering team.
- Implement robust cost‑effective test solutions throughout the supply chain (tier 2 to Customer sign off) for existing and new products.
- Practical testing of first‑article components, working with NPI teams and engineering to ensure critical product features requiring test are defined and accompanied with test specifications.
- Undertake practical studies for OEM and module performance comparisons (for obsolescence, accelerated lifetime testing, etc).
- Ensure all test manufacturing data is archived, kept up to date, and used to inform predictive diagnostics capabilities and tool performance analysis.
Education / Qualifications
- At least HNC or equivalent engineering or professional qualification.
- Degree‑level qualification preferred.
Professional Skills / Abilities
- High frequency RF matching & signal processing up to 8KW.
- High level of electronics knowledge.
- Effective communication skills.
- HNC in Electronics or higher.
- Programming/software experience.
- CAD design – AutoCAD.
