Join our team as a Team Leader of Value Streams for a permanent role based in Severn Beach, Bristol. In this critical position, you will provide leadership to the shift team and oversee the Value Stream Production and test processes. As a skilled shift leader, you will coach, manage performance, and foster technical development within your team. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of shift value stream leaders to drive safety, quality, cost, delivery, and people initiatives, reporting directly to the Value Stream Manager.

In this role you will directly impact the deployment of business strategy, foster strong working relationships with other departments, and promote continuous development across Plasma Technology. As a Value Stream Shift Leader, you will be accountable for meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets, creating and cultivating an environment of continuous improvement and Lean approaches. Your collaboration with the Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering teams will be essential in meeting our customers' requirements. Responsibilities:

  • Shift leadership of a value stream team.
  • Represent the value streams to customers or other external visitors.
  • Participate in compliance audits supporting the maintenance of external accreditations.
  • Contribute to creating and implementing a best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Manufacturing activities.
  • Undertake continuous training and development.

Education / Qualifications:

  • An engineering degree, Apprenticeship in an appropriate discipline or equivalent experience is advantageous.
  • Lean Green belt or equivalent.

Professional Skills / Abilities:

  • Experience managing and developing technicians and technical staff within a relevant manufacturing environment.
  • Recognises, inspires and motivates the team to contribute to the wider business objectives and implements actions and opportunities to continuously develop staff, individually and as a team.
  • Sets high standards of attendance and output, establishing systems that motivate staff to reach these targets and makes difficult decisions where necessary.
  • Open to fresh ways of working and innovative in suggesting new ideas and possible solutions.
  • Able to communicate enthusiasm for a subject to others.
  • A comprehensive understanding of manufacturing methods as they apply to a high technology, high complexity, low volume manufacturer.
  • Strong IT skills.
