We're now looking for an Event Venue Technician to join our team at The Catalyst in Newcastle, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality events and providing technical support in a vibrant, innovative environment.
The Catalyst is a flagship innovation centre that brings together businesses, academia and the wider community. It's a fast-paced, collaborative space where no two days are the same, and where great events and seamless technology really make a difference.
What You'll Be Doing
- Deliver end-to-end AV and technical support for a range of events, including hybrid and high-profile events.
- Work closely with customers and speakers to plan requirements and ensure smooth delivery.
- Set up, test and operate AV equipment, including pre-event checks and practice sessions.
- Provide live troubleshooting and on-the-day support during events.
- Support event delivery, including room setups, logistics and front-of-house coordination.
- Maintain and proactively check AV systems to ensure reliability.
- Work with internal teams and partners to deliver a seamless customer experience.
What You'll Bring
- Strong experience working with AV systems, including conferencing and streaming platforms.
- Experience supporting events and delivering a high level of service to a range of stakeholders.
- A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
- A relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience in a similar environment.
