This is a part-time role, working 15 hours per week. We are happy to discuss suitable working patterns at interview, but flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Laboratory Technician, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the laboratory, supporting the Laboratory Supervisor to ensure a safe, compliant and well-managed environment. You’ll:

  • Maintain laboratory equipment and facilities, ensuring they are clean, functional and serviced in line with schedules
  • Manage laboratory resources and consumables, supporting efficient day-to-day operations
  • Monitor compliance with laboratory processes and procedures, reporting any issues where needed
  • Support the use of shared laboratory spaces, helping coordinate equipment and resource usage
  • Assist with risk assessments and health and safety processes, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Provide technical support and basic training to laboratory users, helping them use equipment safely and effectively

What You’ll Bring:

We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and technically confident. You’ll bring:

  • Practical laboratory experience, ideally within a life sciences environment
  • Knowledge of laboratory health and safety, including risk assessments (e.g. COSHH – desirable)
  • Confidence supporting and troubleshooting laboratory equipment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • A hands‑on, practical approach with good attention to detail
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to support the wider team
