Are you a resilient Occupational Therapist with demonstrable post qualification experience?

We are recruiting for Occupational Therapists to join our Community Mental Health Team based in Witney or Banbury. You’ll provide assessment and evidence-based treatment interventions to a wide range of older adults across North and West Oxfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills within a team committed to the wellbeing and development of all staff.

Working in the towns of Witney and Banbury, we focus on the recovery of patients through a multidisciplinary (MDT) approach, with expertise from doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, support workers and psychological therapies staff alongside regular clinical team meetings. We strive to provide person centred evidence-based care to patients and where possible working collaboratively with their families and carers.

The CMHT is a wonderful team to work in and this role offers an opportunity to develop senior clinical and leadership skills. The Management team are committed to the wellbeing and development of the staff working in the team. We are a supportive, enthusiastic and dedicated team which cares about our patients and their families and carers. We believe in listening and responding as a team, piloting new models, supporting each other and developing and using new care approaches.

The Older Adult CMHT supports adults 65+ years of age who experience a wide range of mental health conditions. We are committed to the person-centred recovery approach in all our clinical work and pride ourselves in offering a high-quality service.

The Responsibilities Of The Role Include

  • Work as an autonomous practitioner in the multi-disciplinary team undertaking generic Mental Health and specialist Occupational Therapy assessments in collaboration with the service user and their families/carers and presenting back to the wider MDT.
  • Work in partnership with service users and their families/carers to ensure the development of a treatment plan to facilitate their safety, promote their well-being and support their independence and inclusion in the community.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions following NICE guidelines to promote recovery and relapse prevention in a variety of settings.
  • Manage a complex caseload of patient, with new patient assessments, risk assessment, care planning, reviews and discharges.
  • Carry out shifts on the Duty Desk fielding incoming calls, triaging new referrals and assessing new patients.

You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions who facilitate forums for Nursing and Occupational Therapists and hold your development as a priority. We offer regular supervision and you will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training relevant to your professional development.
