We are looking for an experienced Events professional to join our Event Operations team and take ownership over a number of established/large-scale live events held in the UK, USA and Europe in our Precision Medicine brand. You will work on the entire event timescale, and have the opportunity to build relationships with venues, suppliers and attendees as well as creating innovative projects to improve our customer experience. As Event Operations Manager, you will manage live events on-site (international travel required) to ensure the success of our Conferences, Awards Dinners and Exhibitions.
Role Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of event co-ordination for conferences, exhibitions, awards ceremonies and networking events
- Proposing creative networking experiences for attendees, using formats such as drinks receptions and gala dinners
- Providing prompt and effective customer support for our event sponsors
- Liaising with event venues on event setup, and troubleshooting areas to optimise event flow and traffic
- Managing the provided event budgets and ensuring costs are aligning with forecast
- Identifying and creating cost saving initiatives for events and business, and negotiating with suppliers and venues
- Briefing/training of event staff during pre-event meetings, ensuring team are clear on on-site responsibilities
- On-site management of live/large-scale events and co-ordination of staff
- Line management responsibility for Event Executives, providing training and holding performance reviews
- Effective troubleshooting with the Event and Portfolio Directors for your brand of events
- Proposing and implementing ideas to improve overall attendee journey and experience
- Holding event debriefs and creating strategies for upcoming events
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous event operations experience (3 years+), including experience in coordinating Exhibitions and Trade Shows
- A creative mindset, with proven experience of creating innovative projects to improve customer experience
- Strong budgeting skills and ability to handle large scale costs. Confident to liaise and negotiate with venues/suppliers
- A customer-centred attitude with experience in creating memorable networking moments, and who is well-versed in onsite branding
- Highly organised, adaptable and resilient. A proactive and versatile working approach, with the ability to move between different projects with ease
- Experience in staff management, including day to day responsibilities, setting objectives and providing comprehensive support and guidance to team members
- Comfortable travelling for work as needed (national & international travel required)
More about the role:
- Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
- Location: All our roles are hybrid (a mix of remote and in office). Our offices are located on the Botley Road in Oxford, with shops/restaurants within walking distance and easy access into Oxford City Centre.
- Job Type: Full time (37.5 hours a week)
