About the Company Oxford Global Resources UK is seeking a full-time Buyer for an initial 6-month contract with a leading life sciences and diagnostics organization. The position has the potential to be extended to a permanent role. About the Role Schedule: 40 hours per week Location: 100% onsite, with the option for one remote day per week following training and onboarding Level: Band 4 Responsibilities Raise purchase orders using the company’s ERP system based on material requirements planning (MRP) and communicate them to suppliers. Secure and document supplier order acknowledgments for all purchase orders, updating the system as needed. Optimize the weekly procurement plan by running exception message reports, adjusting the supplier order book accordingly. Manage communication of the procurement plan and forecasts with Class A+ (critical) suppliers, supporting supplier business reviews and implementing action plans to address supply issues. Monitor material expiry dates and proactively work to minimize scrap, proposing solutions as needed. Escalate unresolved issues in daily Tier meetings, providing clear problem statements and preliminary solutions prior to escalation. Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet division targets. Ensure accurate record-keeping for supplier and broker documentation within the ERP system for each order. Address invoice price discrepancies, ensuring alignment between master data and supplier records. Adhere to all process, regulatory, health, safety, and quality compliance standards. Identify and propose improvements across team functions, contributing to project execution plans. Qualifications Experience: Prior experience in purchasing/procurement, ideally within Life Sciences, Pharma, or Biotech sectors. Skills: Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
