Field Engineer
Operations Department
Based at our production facility in Witney from Spring 2025 noting that our current work from home policy allows for up to two days working from home.

Oxford Flow was founded in 2015 as a spin-out from The University of Oxford and produces some of the most precise and accurate flow control valves in the world. We are an engineering led technology company which has revolutionized valve design with our range of Zero emissions control valves and regulators; these products will transform global fugitive emissions in industries such as oil & gas, gas transmission & distribution, and other process industries.
The addressable market for Oxford Flow’s innovative technology is a £5bn sector of the global £70bn valve and actuator market.
The company has recently secured ÂŁ20m investment from two major strategic organisations to accelerate its growth plans and we are seeking talented individuals to be part of the exciting journey to follow.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, we are seeking a Field Engineer to support the field operations.
Given the nature of our business, the ideal candidate will have control valve or pressure regulator experience in Oil & Gas or Gas Distribution & Transmission networks.
This is a global role that will require flexibility to travel regularly and often at short notice, therefore we are looking for a highly engaged, flexible and enthusiastic person to be an ambassador for Oxford Flow both in the office and with our customers in the field. This is both a “hands-on” and office-based role, with some time being spent in the workshop assessing clients’ technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to company HSE processes and procedures, including maintaining appropriate training and certification
- Manage a 24/7 phone service for customer technical support
- Manage the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Oxford Flow products globally
- Be the first point of contact for customer support queries and provide after-sales technical support to customers
- Prepare and deliver successful structured field trials of Oxford Flow products
- Train distributors and customers in the operation and maintenance of products
- Monitoring of field trial data and report writing
- Uphold high standards of health and safety in the field and elsewhere
- Take ownership and investigate root causes of in field failures and technical issues, including reporting
Required Skills and Experience
- Experience with valves/regulators in Gas Networks, Oil & Gas or Process Industries
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or demonstrable industry experience
- Highly technically competent to facilitate the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Oxford Flow products globally
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to understand clients’ technical issues and troubleshoot
- Technical Report writing and data analysis capability
- Clear communication skills and patience to train customers to a high standard that they feel comfortable using Oxford Flow products
- Experience with CAD and P&ID would be beneficial
- Experience using SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs, and Remote I/O would be beneficial
