Oxford Flow was founded in 2015 as a spin‑out from The University of Oxford and produces the most precise and accurate flow control valves in the world; the range of pressure flow regulators are a fraction of the weight of traditional products and virtually maintenance free. This disruptive technology is used in water and gas distribution networks, oil and gas processes, and other industrial applications. Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs) represent a £5bn sector of the global £70bn valve and actuator market.

A rapidly expanding business is looking for an Assembly Technician to extend its manufacturing capability. The role will report to the Production Manager, with the successful candidate responsible for the assembly of a range of components into finished goods across one or more product lines (primarily flow control valves) ensuring required standards of quality and timeliness are met. Working to safety and quality requirements, Assembly Technicians help to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer expectations and requirements, optimise efficiency and maintain operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate production line equipment such as hoists, lifts, and airlines
  • Build up components and sub‑assemblies into finished products
  • Carry out basic testing and quality checks, ensure reporting of equipment faults
  • Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and machinery
  • Ensure components and products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications
  • Record how much raw material has been used during production and the number of items produced
  • Pack goods, with protective materials ready for shipment in crates, stillages, or other containers
  • Seal containers using appropriate materials such as glue, staples, or shrink‑wrap
  • Stack goods appropriately
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities

Required Skills and Experience:

  • NVQ qualification or Equivalent on job training in related engineering discipline
  • 4+ GCSEs level C and above (>4) including English and Maths, NVQ Level, International Vocational Certificate (IVQ) or similar
  • Good standard of written and spoken English
  • Previous manufacturing experience working with mechanical assemblies
  • Manual assembly including bonding and mechanical fastening
  • Experience of hydraulic products is desirable
  • Use of material handling equipment such as cranes, hoists, and other lifting equipment
  • Experience working with pressurised systems or hydrotest equipment would be advantageous
  • Experience of working to production targets
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing process

  • Based at our Tungsten Park Site, Witney
  • Permanent, full‑time role
  • 25 days’ holiday per year plus all statutory holidays (in England)
