A note from the Founders
Oxford Dynamics is at an inflection point. We operate in some of the most complex and high-stakes environments in the world: defence, national security and incident response. The decisions we make now will define not just how fast we grow, but who we become. You will work closely with all the team. You will be trusted with judgment calls. You will influence the business. And you will see the impact of your work every day in the systems we deploy. If you are excited by ownership, pace and purpose – and by building something that genuinely matters – we would love to hear from you.
Who We Are
Founded in 2020, Oxford Dynamics (OD) is a fast‑growing UK deep‑tech company developing both digital AI and physical AI systems designed to operate in dynamic, mission‑critical environments. Our flagship AVIS (A Very Intelligent System) AI platform fuses multi‑modal data—text, imagery, telemetry and sensor feeds—enabling operators to interrogate complex information at speed and make better decisions under pressure. We apply our AVIS platform to real‑world settings to enable physical AI across multiple platforms, from CBRN applications via STRIDER to explosive ordnance detection using our BARBARIAN platform. Our ambition is simple but demanding: to converge AI and robotics so machines can sense, understand and act in complex, real‑world environments. We work with defence and security organisations internationally to help protect nations, infrastructure and lives.
What you will be doing / why this role matters
Oxford Dynamics is entering a phase where robotics is central to our growth and differentiation. As Product & Strategic Lead, you will define how our physical AI systems evolve and reach the right customer base in industry. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, and delivery. You will shape the roadmap for our robotic systems, ensuring they align with customer needs, operational realities, and the broader OD vision of AI–robotics convergence. Your work will involve business development and commercial focus to ensure operational success and delivery into regulated and high‑trust environments. You will work with the senior leadership team and internal technical teams to broaden our customer base, where we can find new opportunities for growth, and how we scale to customer requirements. This role will suit a strategic leader who thrives on ownership, complexity, and impact; it offers the opportunity to shape not just products, but the future direction of robotics within a mission‑driven company. If you are excited by defining the future of robotics in real‑world, high‑stakes environments – this role is built for you.
- Proven ability to define and execute strategy for robotics or complex technical products.
- Strong understanding of robotic systems, including hardware/software integration, autonomy, perception, and control.
- Ideally you will come from a defence background (military/commercial) and speak the customer’s language.
- Experience contributing to, or ideally leading bids, partnerships, and product strategy in a deep‑tech and/or defence context.
- Ability to bridge technical and commercial perspectives, making clear, high‑impact decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across engineering teams, leadership, external partners and customers.
- Clear, structured communication across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to align diverse teams around shared goals.
