We are seeking a highly organised, proactive and dedicated Attendance Officer to join our pastoral team and play a vital role in supporting excellent student attendance across Years 7–13. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about building positive relationships with students and families, improving outcomes, and contributing to the wider safeguarding culture of the school.
As our Attendance Officer, you will be at the heart of our efforts to remove barriers to attendance and ensure every student has the best possible chance to thrive. You will:
- Monitor daily attendance and punctuality, ensuring registers are accurate and concerns are followed up swiftly.
- Contact parents/carers regarding unexplained absences and maintain clear, timely communication.
- Identify students needing additional support, set targets, and work closely with families to improve attendance.
- Collaborate with Year Leaders, Safeguarding, SEND, Pupil Premium, and the County Attendance Team to coordinate support and interventions.
- Produce regular attendance reports and contribute to whole‑school strategies, rewards, and sanctions.
- Ensure all procedures follow safeguarding expectations, including CME requirements and GDPR compliance.
