We are seeking to recruit a Data Governance & Compliance Manager to establish and lead the company's data governance function.

This is a newly created strategic role that sits within the Legal & Compliance function and will be responsible for ensuring the governance, provenance, legitimacy and regulatory compliance of the data that underpins Oxford Data Plan’s products.

Although the role includes responsibility for UK GDPR and broader privacy compliance, it is considerably wider than a traditional Data Protection Officer position.

We are looking for someone who can build and embed an enterprise-wide data governance framework across the business, working closely with Legal, Product, Partnerships, Commercial, Engineering and IT.

Oxford Data Plan develops institutional-grade alternative data products for financial markets.

Our competitive advantage is built on acquiring, analysing and transforming high-quality data into proprietary market intelligence products.

Because our business is fundamentally data-driven, governance of our data assets is a strategic capability rather than simply a compliance requirement.

The successful candidate will become the custodian of the firm's data governance framework and will play a central role in ensuring that our data assets remain commercially valuable, legally defensible and trusted by institutional clients.

The successful candidate will establish, own and continuously improve Oxford Data Plan’s enterprise Data Governance Framework.

We are looking for an experienced governance professional who combines strong regulatory knowledge with commercial judgement and an ability to work collaboratively across legal and technical teams.

Candidates should have experience in the following

  • enterprise data governance
  • UK GDPR
  • Data Protection Act 2018
  • privacy programmes
  • vendor due diligence
  • data licensing
  • information governance
  • regulatory compliance
  • risk management
  • intellectual property
  • commercial contracts
  • implementation of governance frameworks.

Experience within one or more of the following sectors would be particularly valuable: alternative data, financial services, investment research, market data, technology, Saa S, data platforms.
