Local Government Reorganisation is a significant change programme affecting public service delivery in Oxfordshire during the next two years. Oxford City will be replaced by a new structure for local authorities by April 2028 and work has already begun to tackle this huge challenge. To help us, we are looking for a senior HR professional to join the People Services management team to deliver “business as usual” and support the preparation for, and delivery of, change. It’s an exciting and challenging time in local government and the reorganisation we are embarking on is complex.

We need someone who is flexible and happy to take on a range of responsibilities that will change as we move through the next two years. The challenge includes working in collaboration with other councils in Oxfordshire and delivery of Oxford City’s people strategy and plan. We are looking for someone who is excited about making a difference and motivated to deliver change and excellent service quality.

You’ll be joining a motivated and professional team that is highly regarded and an effective business partner, and you’ll be welcomed and supported by your new colleagues in People Services.

As a member of the People Services leadership team, contribute to the design and delivery of the people strategy and plan, ensuring business needs are addressed by the full range of services. Work flexibly across the service and take ownership of the delivery of key initiatives. Provide support on the delivery of Local Government Reorganisation to prepare for change and then support the delivery of complex, organisational change.
