A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Security Officer, who will demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to both our clients and service users. Islington Square spans over 15,800 square meters of retail, commercial, and leisure space, and has been transformed into a dynamic destination that blends residential, cultural, and business environments. Ideally situated near Angel and Highbury & Islington stations, the site benefits from excellent transport links and easy access across London.
Position Details
- Location: North London (N1)
- Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
- Hours: Average 42 hours per week
- Shifts: Days & Nights (4 on 4 off, 12 hours)
Job Role / Requirements
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence required
- SIA CCTV Licence required
- Security and customer service experience required
- Must be flexible and able to work days, nights, weekends, and shifts that may change due to operational needs
- Must have good command of English language
- Good levels of customer service, communication both written & verbal at all times
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word & Outlook
- Flexible in the approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site
- This position involves external patrolling throughout the shift, must be able to stand/walk for extended periods when asked in all weather
- Maintains working knowledge of the locations & security & safety for assigned areas
- First Aid qualification & a CCTV SIA Licence is a bonus
- Must have five years of checkable work history
Job Responsibilities
- Ability to demonstrate and deliver high quality guarding and customer service to our customers and service users
- Preserve order and secure premises, people, and assets
- Take all reasonable and required measures to protect venue
- Convey a smart, well-groomed appearance in approved uniform, provide first-class customer service, and display high levels of vigilance throughout shift
- Portray a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanour always, using open and appropriate body language
- Vigilance is key; any untoward activity and/or security related concerns must be immediately reported to Security Control
- Be customer service facing
- Polite, positive, and professional at all times – every colleague, tenant and visitor is a customer and must be treated as such
- Perform internal and external patrols of the estate, noting observations and ensuring any untoward activity or issues are immediately reported
- Respond to alarm activations and investigate disturbances as instructed
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities (statements and incident reports), such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons or any unusual occurrences
- Reception duties when required and follow correct sign-in / sign-out process for visitors
- Act as a high-profile and mobile security presence, remaining alert to all activity
- Explain the no parking policy to any unauthorised vehicle
