Eligibility
You can only apply for this role if you are currently working for Oxford City Council as an employee (including staff who are on secondment to another organisation) or Agency Worker subject to the Agency Workers Directive.
Responsibilities
We need proactive and resilient customer-focused Income Officers to join our Incomes Team which has responsibility for the collection of local authority income streams, including housing rents, leaseholder service charges and sundry debts. Your primary focus will be to monitor customer accounts and to recover any outstanding payments due. Utilising your effective numeracy, negotiation and communication skills, you will provide advice and support to our customers on a daily basis, whilst also liaising with external agencies, businesses and other departments within Oxford City Council.
Desired Experience
Some previous experience of debt collection in a similar environment would be advantageous, along with a talent for getting the best outcome for both the end customer and authority in what is a demanding area of work.
