We’re looking for an Income Recovery Officer to join the Income Team. If you’re proactive and customer focused then we want to hear from you. We are looking for a suitable candidate who, through the effective and proactive management of customer accounts, can contribute to the maximisation of the Council’s income.
Working as part of the income collection team to provide a comprehensive income collection service to all customers of the Council, you will be required to deal with a caseload of housing rent accounts and take the appropriate action in accordance with the Council’s Income Collection Policies and Procedures.
This will include resolving customer issues to prevent debt, negotiating with customers on sustainable repayment plans and providing advice to maximise customer’s income. There is also a requirement to represent the Council at Court in Possession and other enforcement proceedings relating to debt. Role purpose
To work as part of a team providing a comprehensive income collection service, primarily for rents but also sundry income, to all customers of Oxford City Council, in line with Council policies and procedures
To act as a representative of Oxford City Council at Court hearings relating to debt cases
To engage with customers, identifying and negotiating effecting solutions according to individual circumstances and recover unpaid debt owed to the council
