You will lead and manage the Business Intelligence (BI) team and will work in close partnership with key stakeholders and services, providing them with the data and insight needed to ensure evidence-based decision making is at the heart of the City Council's corporate priorities and plans.

This post will use data from a variety of sources including primary data from public consultation, secondary data related to population, economy and housing from sources such as the Census, as well as customer data. You must be confident in analysing, interpreting and reporting data from multiple sources.

Following the Government's decision to create three new councils across Oxfordshire and West Berkshire as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), the Council is entering a period of significant change. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that robust evidence, insight and analysis support both the Council's current priorities as well its transition to the new council structure in April 2028.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the Council's Business Intelligence function, developing the team's capabilities and strengthening the organisation's commitment to evidence-based decision making. You will work closely with senior leaders, policymakers and colleagues across the Council as well as Business Intelligence Leads and analysts from across Oxfordshire and West Berkshire as we move towards the successful delivery of LGR.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an important function within the Council and make a significant contribution to one of the largest changes to local government in a generation.

You will need to be self-motivated, adaptable and flexible in your approach to work and have experience of managing and delivering research projects. You will be experienced in acquiring, organising, analysing and presenting statistical information and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
