Overview
In this senior role you lead the Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) programme across around 8,000 HRA homes, including Higher-Risk Buildings. You provide technical leadership, ensure robust, evidence-based fire risk assessments, and align them with current legislation and sector guidance. You will support broader building safety management, governance, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring Fire Risk Assessors and improving service delivery to residents. This role shapes fire safety culture and ensures safe, compliant housing services.

Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of the FRA programme across the HRA housing portfolio
- Oversee delivery of high-quality fire risk assessments and manage fire safety risks and compliance
- Act as lead technical specialist for the FRA workstream, ensuring assessments are robust, proportionate and evidence-based
- Ensure alignment with current legislation, sector guidance and organisational standards
- Support wider building safety management, regulatory assurance and resident safety objectives
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and QA to Fire Risk Assessors to ensure consistency and high professional standards
- Contribute to governance, KPI reporting, audit readiness and regulatory compliance activities, including Building Safety Regulator requirements and Building Safety Case information
- Collaborate with Building Safety Managers, Fire Safety Project Managers, operational teams, contractors and residents to strengthen fire safety culture and service visibility
- Help deliver safe, compliant, and resident-focused housing services
Key requirements
- Significant experience in fire risk assessment and FRA programme delivery
- Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation and regulatory expectations, including Building Safety requirements
- Ability to lead, mentor, and QA Fire Risk Assessors and maintain high professional standards
- Experience in governance, KPI reporting and audit readiness for building safety
