We are looking for an experienced and resilient Housing Options Senior Team Leader to lead and support a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services. You will be confident in managing people, performance, and priorities, able to make sound decisions under pressure, and committed to driving service improvement.
Working collaboratively with partners and stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring statutory duties are met while delivering compassionate, solution-focused support to some of Oxford’s most vulnerable residents.
- To ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the Housing Options Service with a homelessness prevention focus by actively leading and contributing to continuous improvement.
- To act up for the Homelessness Prevention Manager in their absence and to deputise for them in attending meetings and undertaking specific project work.
- To be responsible for undertaking suitability reviews with respect to private rented sector offers under the Localism Act.
- Providing guidance, instruction, direction, and leadership to ensure effective and efficient cross-team working to deliver performance targets and service objectives.
- To be an effective member of the Housing Needs Management Team in support of strategic and corporate objectives, including delivery of our transformation principles of establishing early upstream homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing.
- Driving the delivery of continuous service improvement and delivery of projects, tasks, and objectives, strategically and operationally.
- To forge strong and effective relationships with internal and external partners, aiming to deliver an excellent overall approach to homelessness prevention and rapid rehousing in Oxford, in an often-challenging area of council services.
- To provide effective line management to the Housing Options Team Leaders, the Homelessness Prevention Triage Team, and the Homelessness Prevention Apprentice. Motivate, support and lead staff through a period of change to provide an excellent level of service for our customers.
