About the role: Activate Learning are now looking for Sports Teachers to join our established teaching team at our Banbury Campus. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and passionate individuals with the ability to inspire, so that our sports students have a memorable learning experience. With your excellent subject knowledge and practice skills you will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons up to level 3. This is a fixed-term, part-time role working 26 hours per week (FTE 0.70) based at our Banbury College campus. This contract ends in July 2026.
What do you need to be successful as a Sports Teacher at Activate Learning? We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Sport and Fitness courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
- A level 3 qualification in Sports is essential.
- Experience of sports coaching, sport therapy or working in the sports/fitness industry is desirable, but not essential.
- It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential.
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
