Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and suitably qualified academic to serve as an external examiner for the following programmes:

Programmes

  • PG Cert in Cardiorespiratory Practice
  • PG Cert in Emergency Care
  • PG Cert in Acute Care of the Older Person with Frailty
  • MSc in Enhanced Clinical Practice

Modules

  • Enhanced Patient Assessment & Management
  • Cardiac and Respiratory Care
  • Adult Emergency Care
  • Developing Emergency Care
  • Children’s Emergency Care
  • Care of the older person with frailty
  • Enhancing Professional Practice
  • Professional Nurse Advocate/ Advocacy and Education for Quality Improvement in Practice

Term and Start Date

The successful applicant will begin on 1st September 2026 for a term of four years.

Responsibilities

  • External moderation of assessments and feedback
  • Submission of an annual monitoring report
  • Attendance at the relevant PG Examination Boards
  • Provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and on the development of new modules within their area of expertise

Requirements

  • Currently working in a UK-based Higher Education Institution (HEI)
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Desirable: prior experience as an external examiner (not required)
