The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning and delivering a schedule of high quality, engaging and relevant events to students across all Oxford Brookes University campuses.
  • Supporting colleagues, officers, students and student groups to plan, deliver and evaluate the success of events and activities on campus.
  • Developing and ensuring adherence to the Union’s events planning procedures including budgeting, free speech regulations, health and safety policy and behavioural policy.
  • Risk assessing or supporting others to risk assess their events activities ensuring these are in line with the Union and Oxford Brookes University health and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in the Communications and Engagement team to plan the promotion of events in line with the organisational calendar.
  • Supporting the delivery of the Union’s celebratory events including Freshers' Fair, Union awards ceremonies, Elections/Results Nights and Teaching Awards.
  • Leading on the Union's involvement in recruitment activity including attendance at Open Days, Applicant Days and other similar activities in conjunction with relevant University Departments.
  • Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders across Oxford Brookes University to ensure the smooth running of events and other Union activity.
  • Building strong and collaborative relationships across Brookes Union, providing practical support for physical Union activity when needed.
  • Supporting the Union’s income generation activities including facilitating brands and other organisations to advertise on campus.
  • Providing effective and comprehensive line management for student staff, including objective setting, personal and professional development, performance management and wellbeing/pastoral support.
