Company & role background

Oxford Brain Diagnostics (OBD) is redefining how neurodegenerative disease is measured.

Our proprietary Cortical Disarray Measurement (CDM®) technology uses standard MRI to quantify subtle changes in brain microstructure, creating objective measures with the potential to improve the characterization and longitudinal assessment of neurodegenerative disease.

As disease-modifying therapies become an increasingly important part of clinical practice, physicians, health systems, researchers, and pharmaceutical companies need scalable, objective measures that can help characterize disease, monitor progression, and evaluate therapeutic response.

The Opportunity

OBD is seeking a senior, quota-carrying business development leader to build and close strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies developing therapies for neurological disease.

This is a hands‑on individual‑contributor role for an experienced enterprise seller who can both create pipeline and close complex opportunities.

You will own the commercial cycle from account targeting and prospecting through solution development, negotiation and close, with a particular focus on expanding early CDM engagements into larger, multi‑year clinical development programmes.

You will work closely with OBD's Commercial, Marketing, Science and Technology teams to develop solutions spanning exploratory biomarker work, patient stratification and longitudinal monitoring in clinical trials.

The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of drug development with the commercial discipline to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and build enduring relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and Own the Pharma Pipeline
  • Own an annual bookings target and build a qualified pipeline sufficient to deliver against it.
  • Identify and prioritize pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts based on neurology and CNS focus, development stage and potential fit with CDM.
  • Generate new opportunities through direct outreach, existing relationships, conferences, partnerships and coordinated marketing programmes.
  • Develop strategic account plans for priority customers and identify opportunities to expand individual projects into broader relationships.
  • Lead Complex Enterprise Deals
  • Lead the full commercial process from initial engagement and needs assessment through solution design, proposal, pricing, contracting and close.
  • Navigate multiple stakeholders across clinical development, translational medicine, imaging, biomarker, procurement and legal functions.
  • Develop consultative, value‑based proposals that connect CDM to specific drug‑development challenges and decisions.
  • Work with the CCO and CEO on strategic pricing, major contracts and larger partnership opportunities.
  • Grow Clinical Trial and CDM Track Business
  • Build compelling value propositions around patient characterization, stratification, longitudinal monitoring and clinical trial endpoints.
  • Expand successful exploratory and pilot engagements into larger, recurring and multi‑year programmes.
  • Develop CDM Track as a strategic component of OBD's pharmaceutical and clinical trial business.
  • Partner closely with Science and Technology to ensure solutions are scientifically credible, operationally feasible and aligned with customer needs.
  • Build Strategic Customer Relationships
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior leaders in clinical development, neuroscience, translational medicine, biomarkers and related functions.
  • Understand customers' development portfolios and identify opportunities where CDM can address meaningful scientific or clinical‑development challenges.
  • Represent OBD at major industry meetings and conferences, including AAN, AAIC, CTAD, DIA and BIO.
  • Travel within the United States and internationally, including to the UK and Europe, as required .
  • Maintain accurate opportunities, forecasts and account plans in OBD's CRM.
  • Provide clear visibility into pipeline, bookings, deal progression and commercial risks.
  • Work closely with the CCO and Marketing on account strategy, lead generation and commercial planning.
  • Bring structured enterprise‑selling practices to a growing commercial organization while remaining comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a commercially driven life‑sciences leader who can combine scientific credibility with disciplined enterprise selling.

  • 8+ years of business development or enterprise sales experience in pharma services, clinical trials, imaging, biomarkers, diagnostics or a related life‑sciences field.
  • A demonstrated record of originating, developing and closing complex B2B opportunities with pharmaceutical or biotechnology customers.
  • Experience developing substantial enterprise relationships that can expand into $1M+ multi‑year programmes.
  • Experience navigating complex buying processes involving scientific, clinical, procurement, legal and executive stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of clinical trial design, endpoints and drug‑development processes.
  • Evidence of consultative, value‑based selling and the ability to build pipeline from new relationships.
  • Strong executive communication, negotiation and relationship‑management skills.
  • A degree in life sciences, biomedical sciences or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Based in the United States and able to travel domestically and internationally.

Additional experience that would be valuable includes

  • Existing relationships with leaders in neuroscience, CNS clinical development, translational medicine, biomarkers or imaging at pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
  • Experience selling imaging, biomarker, diagnostic or other technology‑enabled solutions into drug development.
  • Familiarity with regulatory considerations for biomarkers and clinical trial endpoints, including FDA and EMA contexts.
  • Experience building a territory, market or commercial function in an early‑stage or high‑growth company.
  • An advanced scientific, clinical or business degree.
  • What Success Looks Like

In the first 90 days, you will understand OBD's technology, evidence and pharmaceutical value proposition; establish a prioritized target‑account strategy; develop relationships across key accounts; and create a clear 12‑month pipeline and bookings plan.

Within six months, you will have built a strong qualified pipeline, progressed multiple strategic opportunities and advanced at least one significant CDM Track or clinical trial opportunity into late‑stage commercial discussions.

Within 12 months, you will have delivered against your annual bookings target, closed new pharmaceutical or biotechnology customers, expanded existing relationships and established a credible multi‑year pipeline of larger clinical trial and CDM Track programmes.

Compensation and Equal Opportunity

OBD offers a competitive compensation package appropriate to seniority of the appointment and part‑time nature, including eligibility for equity and bonus.

Oxford Brain Diagnostics is an equal opportunity employer.
