We are recruiting for a QC Microbiologist to join the Quality Control team. The purpose of this role is to test and report on raw materials, intermediates, sterility testing of finished products, the manufacturing environment, and stability samples to enable product release and meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performing and reporting microbiological testing on raw materials, in‑process, finished products, and manufacturing environments to support product release and regulatory compliance.
  • Execute key tests including environmental monitoring, bioburden (membrane filtration) and endotoxin testing (LAL), sterility testing (within isolator), microbial identification, growth promotion testing, operator qualification and media qualification testing.
  • Supporting internal audits to maintain and improve Quality systems and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance working practices.
  • Investigate and coordinate microbiology OOS/OOT results, identifying root causes and contributing factors.
  • Proficient in complex assays and environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and a scientific understanding of the assays you are trained in.

Qualifications

  • HND/Degree level in Microbiology or related subject.
  • Thorough understanding of microbiological test methods; Sterility testing on finished product, Bioburden testing, and Endotoxin and their application in OXB.
  • Experience with sterility testing of finished products.
  • Understanding of microbiological identification techniques; Gram staining and Biochemical testing and their use.
  • Relevant industrial/laboratory experience in Microbiology testing and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of cGMP.
  • Flexibility to work shifts covering the hours from 07.00am to 03.00am Mon‑Fri.
