We're currently recruiting for a Senior Scientist - QC to join our Quality Control team. In this role, you will work within a Containment Level 3 Laboratory (CL3) with a team of Scientists responsible for ensuring that reported QC release results are robust, accurate and scientifically sound, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference.
Your responsibilities in this role would be:
- Perform assays, report results and QC check assays for QC release in accordance with GMP regulations, mainly cell culture and qPCR.
- Work in laboratories according to CL3 UK Health and Safety regulations.
- Complete quality records (deviations, CAPAs and change controls) in a timely manner.
- Write and review ASG Policies, SOPs and forms.
- Responsible for ensuring the GMP compliance of the laboratory and equipment.
- Contribute to and/or lead root cause investigations.
- Support customer and regulatory inspections, attend Customer meetings.
- Training other Scientists in GMP procedures.
- Contribute to and/or lead thorough and timely investigation of invalid assays.
We are looking for:
- BSc or equivalent in a relevant Bioscience with relevant experience.
- Experience in working within Containment Level 3 Laboratory.
- Strong technical understanding of aseptic technique, cell culture and qPCR.
- Proven abilities in critical thinking and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work within GMP regulations and maintain compliance; previous experience of working within a GMP environment is required.
- Knowledge of assay development and/or validation.
- Understanding of basic statistical techniques for data analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent writing skills for preparing plans and reports.
