We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Assistant to join our Quality Control team. In this role, you will provide essential laboratory activities and services to support the ADQC department, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference. Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • To perform routine monitoring of controlled temperature units within ASG CL2 laboratories
  • To raise engineering requests and to chaperone engineers whilst they are servicing/repairing analytical instruments
  • To generate and review equipment files for basic pieces of equipment to meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
  • To clean and maintain the laboratory equipment and facilities
  • To calibrate the pH meter and balance as required ready for analytical testing
  • To operate the autoclave and dispose of waste materials as required
  • To perform stock checks of consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by Scientists to ensure work activities are maintained
  • To assist the team to ensure the CL2 laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance
  • To raise LMT work requests and assist LMT if required

We are looking for:

  • Level 2 - GCSE English and Maths
  • Knowledge and understanding of efficient and effective laboratory working practices
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and perform basic maths
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to challenge current practices and suggest new ideas
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly with Scientists and Managers
  • Organizational skills and service-oriented mindset
  • Able to listen to instructions and follow them
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn
