We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Assistant to join our Quality Control team. In this role, you will provide essential laboratory activities and services to support the ADQC department, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference. Your responsibilities in this role would be:
- To perform routine monitoring of controlled temperature units within ASG CL2 laboratories
- To raise engineering requests and to chaperone engineers whilst they are servicing/repairing analytical instruments
- To generate and review equipment files for basic pieces of equipment to meet Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards
- To clean and maintain the laboratory equipment and facilities
- To calibrate the pH meter and balance as required ready for analytical testing
- To operate the autoclave and dispose of waste materials as required
- To perform stock checks of consumables, media, solutions, buffers used by Scientists to ensure work activities are maintained
- To assist the team to ensure the CL2 laboratory suites meet regulatory compliance
- To raise LMT work requests and assist LMT if required
We are looking for:
- Level 2 - GCSE English and Maths
- Knowledge and understanding of efficient and effective laboratory working practices
- Ability to read, write legibly, and perform basic maths
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to challenge current practices and suggest new ideas
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate clearly with Scientists and Managers
- Organizational skills and service-oriented mindset
- Able to listen to instructions and follow them
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn
