We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician I to join our Quality Control Raw Materials Team. In this role, you will ensure that incoming raw materials are tested and released in time to meet manufacturing demands and are compliant with regulatory requirements, playing a key part in advancing our mission and making a real difference.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Carry out routine inspection, testing and release of incoming raw materials ensuring that quality and time targets are met.
  • Test raw materials using techniques such as pH, conductivity, osmolality, FTIR, strength assay and other wet-chemistry methods.
  • Maintain stock control in the laboratory and ordering or preparing reagents when required.
  • Carry out and document routine equipment maintenance activities.
  • Represent the QC department in communications with manufacturing, Warehouse & Supply Chain, other members of QC and the wider business to ensure on time delivery of raw materials to the end user.
  • Prepare shipments of materials to CTOs and other sites.
  • Liaise with suppliers and external testing laboratories ensuring quality information and test results are provided in a timely manner.
  • Authoring and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other documentation for the laboratory.

We are looking for:

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE or equivalent qualification level or able to demonstrate required skills gained within another workplace.
  • Previous laboratory experience is required with a good understanding of health & safety, SDS and COSHH assessment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure a high standard of record keeping and documentation.
  • Previous experience with a LIMS/ELN system is desirable.
  • Basic understanding of GxP regulations.
  • Highly organised and motivated with a genuine interest in quality control.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge and experience of MS Office, Word, Excel & Outlook.
