Job Summary

A Business Banking Loan Officer is a portfolio management position responsible for creating value for our Business Banking relationships and Treasury Management relationships while promoting other products and services provided by Oxford Bank.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and manage an existing Business Banking portfolio.
  • Manage our customer’s relationship around profitability and portfolio risk while responsible for profitable growth of the assigned portfolio.
  • Meet with business owners to build strong relationships.
  • Identify needs, and recommend product solutions.
  • Partner with Personal Banking to create and deliver customer solutions.
  • Partner with Credit and Loan Documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness of credit packages according to policy.

How You\\\’ll Spend Your Time

  • You’ll serve as a resource to a team of Business Bankers in the areas of marketing, new business development, and loan analysis and servicing.
  • You’ll oversee annual department objectives, provide input on our operating plan, and help implement department programs to comply with organization requirements.
  • You’ll call on complex commercial accounts to develop new relationships with prospective clients, cross-sell products, and services, and retain existing clients.
  • You’ll participate in community and professional activities to enhance our image and expand your network of business contacts for development of new business.
  • You’ll partner with Credit & Loan Processing on the approval, documentation, and booking processes. Analyzing and evaluating credit requests, writing loan commitments, recommending appropriate risk rating, and issue declinations.
  • You’ll provide input to leadership regarding negotiation of loan proposals, analysis of credit requests, prepare loan commitments, and recommend appropriate credit grades. You’ll make oral presentations to loan committee and provide back-up support to team members with loan committee presentations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrated consistent and effective negotiation skills.
  • General knowledge of business banking, lending, and deposit products and services.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of credit structures, along with thorough understanding of current banking industry.
  • Work well within a team environment and collaborate closely with internal partners to deliver customer solutions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Formal Credit Lending training.
  • Candidates preferably have at least 1-2 years’ experience managing business relationships.

This position will comply with all BSA compliance laws and regulations including the Bank’s BSA policy and procedures.
