We have an opportunity for a Senior Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Service Engineer to join our team, taking responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This is a senior hands-on role requiring strong HVACR expertise, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to deliver high quality service to a wide range of clients.
The role offers plenty of variety, from planned preventative maintenance through to reactive emergency breakdown response, working across both domestic and commercial environments. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and maintaining a wide range of air conditioning systems. You will also support the admin team in preparing detailed and accurate quotations for remedial works.
During the first few months of your employment you will be required to travel across all client locations to familiarise yourself with the scope of sites and equipment we support. Once you have an understanding of the range of clients and equipment we support the role will centre predominately in the Oxfordshire area. There will, however, be a requirement to travel to client sites in other areas to support colleagues and business demands from time to time. There should not be requirements for any overnight stays.
Full-time, permanent 40 hour week Monday to Friday No on call rota.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing on a range of air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose faults and carry out reactive maintenance across commercial properties.
- Assist in site surveys, quotes, and RAMS for customers.
- Lead maintenance teams during complex repair or installation projects, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Experience with food service and cold storage systems.
- Work on Split air conditioning, VRV / VRF systems, including water cooled, cold/freezer rooms, water chillers, close control units; experience with chilled water systems is desirable.
- Level 2 City and Guilds Refrigeration and air conditioning.
- Level 3 desirable.
- FGas 2079 level 1.
- 10 years experience in the air conditioning industry.
- Ensure work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to standards and legislation.
- Provide senior-level technical support and demonstrate leadership in the field through your experience and knowledge.
- Comfortable working independently and managing workloads effectively without supervision.
- Good electrical knowledge – control circuits, electrical diagnostics including the ability to read wiring schematics.
- Full/manual driving licence.
Competitive salary, company vehicle and fuel card with some personal use allowed, tools, uniform, and PPE provided, ongoing training and development, 21 days holiday (increasing to 25 days).
