Rates of pay: £158-£190 per day, inclusive of holiday pay, depending on age and experience
Dates: 13 July to 27 August 2026 (Plus future school holidays in October 2026, February 2027, Easter 2027, May 2027 and Summer 2027 and beyond)
Hours: 8.15am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

We have been running Active Camps for children aged 4 -14 years successfully for over 20 years and are looking for a new Camp Manager in Oxford to lead our multi-activity children’s camp where we provide a safe, welcoming and fun place for children to relax, play and learn, and where you will ensure that the highest standards are met, and children have the best possible experience at the camp.

Key Duties- Lead and inspire a team of activity leaders to plan and deliver a range of engaging and challenging activities for children aged 4 – 14 years. Our range of activities includes anything from arts and crafts, cooking and swimming to fun sports and games, plus wow activities like bouncy castles and archery.
- Conduct observations of staff running activities, provide constructive feedback and conduct staff performance reviews.
- Manage the signing in/out procedures to ensure the safe arrival of children at the camp and the safe delivery to parents and/or named carers at end of day.
- Keep children safe by ensuring all staff follow the camp’s policies and procedures at all times, particularly with regard to the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
- Understand and adhere to Ofsted requirements to be registered on the Early Years Register, and the Compulsory & Voluntary Childcare Registers.
- Ensure that the correct records and paperwork are in place to keep children safe.
- Ensure that the premises are kept clean and tidy, and that staff take care of play and sports equipment.
- Act as lead practitioner for Safeguarding at the camp.
- Take the lead in and ensure that all staff build effective, informative and strong relationships with children’s parents/carers and the host school staff.
- Have at least six months experience of supervisory experience in an educational, childcare or similar environment.
- Have the confidence and skills to inspire and lead a team of staff.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills with children and adults alike.
- Be enthusiastic, and have a flexible and positive can-do attitude to work.
- Be able to use your own initiative but also be comfortable working as part of a team.
- Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the Ofsted Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
- Be willing to undertake appropriate training.
