Location: Active Clubs at West Oxford Primary School, Ferry HInksey Road, Oxford, OX2 0BY
Pay: £12.16 - £14.24 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay
Hours: 3-6pm on weekdays during school term time.
Roles available from 1-3 days a week, or just occasional cover work.
Job Purpose
To assist with the running of the After School Club in order to provide a safe, welcoming and fun place for children to relax and play after school each day.
Key Duties
- Working as part of a team to devise and plan activities that will engage and challenge children attending the club
- Taking part in the delivery of safe, creative, appropriate play opportunities in a fun and caring environment
- Helping ensure safe arrival of children at the club and the safe delivery to carers at end of day
- Keeping children safe and minimising risks in the play environment
- Providing snacks/refreshments to the children
- Administering first aid as appropriate
- Being responsible for tidying rooms at the end of the day
- Carrying out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunities framework
- Working within all company policies and procedures, with particular reference to safeguarding responsibilities for the children in our care
Person Specification
- Experience or working with 3 – 11 year old children in a play environment
- Ability to communicate at all levels, particularly with children
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- An appropriate qualification in Playwork or Childcare at NVQ Level 2 or the equivalent is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to undertake appropriate training is essential
- All staff need to pass strict safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS Disclosure
You will be supported by our team at Head Office and the club team and we will offer training opportunities such as Safeguarding, Food Hygiene and Paediatric First Aid
